Ward councillors for Swinton North are concerned about a letter that has been sent to residents of Cromwell Road and Calder Drive, Swinton, regarding the proposed traffic scheme. The letter suggests no action will be taken to remove the ineffective ‘bus gate’ and re-route traffic away from residential properties until The Swinton High School moves to its new site.

The original plan for a new entrance with a turning head cannot proceed because of concerns by the school about loss of play area and safety issues.

We have, hoever, asked officers of the Council  to  look at interim measures.  We will report back as soon as possible.
