New school still on cards
The Council is still committed to providing a new high school off Deans Road despite rumours that the plan has been axed. The initial proposals were to go to an adjudicator but those proposals have been withdrawn so the overall position can be reviewed in the light of St George’s.
The review will still secure a replacement school on the Moorside High playing fields. But it will also include a review of how to retain the plan for a new St Ambrose Barlow RC High. We were very concerned that the adjudicator’s decision on St George’s threatened the plan for a new Ambrose school. We have lobbied hard to allow something like the original plan to go ahead.
